Rules and Quick FAQs

(Work in progress regarding ground rules and frequently asked questions)
(Incoming affiliations will be rejected for the moment until more admin members are found and instated to their tasks)

Member Conduct:
Anyone can join on conditional terms described below:

1. Follow dA rules and policies!

2. Always, always be mindful and respectful of other people and their opinions. If you find it necessary to disagree over an issue, do so in a manner expected of a mature person.

3. Difficult members who make condescending comments, outright antagonize or harass other members and cause general discord will be warned repeatedly by the admin before receiving either a probationary status or a permanent ban. (We hope never to have to resort to such action if it can be helped so we encourage only the best of behavior from everyone!)

On the off chance you are having difficulty joining the group, contact any of the current admin members. We'll attend to your needs in this matter!

Submissions:
We accept content taken straight from official sources like screenshots, written manuals or even magazine interviews from SEGA's Sonic Team members. Meaning, we're only taking submissions regarding the games, not the comics.

If you have a more personalized project to share and contribute we will ordinarily limit such submissions to two posts per week. Every member can pitch in equal amounts of work to be approved by the current admin. Just make sure it's yours and not stolen from someone else.

Affiliations:
We will affiliate with groups that are preferably active and/or dedicated to the videogames of Sonic.

However we will decline affiliations of the following criteria unless otherwise proposed amongst our active admin members:

-Pairing groups
-Hate/anti-groups
-Inactive fancharacter clubs or those with less than 30 members
-Non-Sonic related groups
-Groups without avatars
-Groups strictly for roleplaying purposes
-Sonic groups that limit their scope to one particular era or character

(Further queries about contribution or possibly signing up for a role in the main sites may be taken up with UltimateGameMaster (CM webmaster) or chemb0t (TG webmaster).)

Today, I learned that I have strengths that I can be proud of, perseverance being the most prominent.

As a Sonic fan, however, I honestly don't know if I can endure this. Just...bear with me as I try. Please.

Just a nitpick/suggestion I just noticed- you tend to refer to Sonic 06 as "Sonic Next". Since the only official name is "Sonic the Hedgehog" and thus any other choice will be chosen from popular fan names, why not go for "Sonic the Hedgehog (aka Sonic 06)" or "Sonic the Hedgehog (2006)"? Haven't heard anyone call it Sonic Next in years. At most, Sonic Next-Gen, and even then the common name is just Sonic 06.

Because "Sonic '06" is boring.

That's not very... "scientific" of you? I mean sure, but considering the way you tend to apply and show rigour in your work, choosing an arbitrary fan name is a sore thumb especially when by this point you guys are the only ones doing it. Why not "Sonic the Hedgehog (2006)"?

Because it's too damn generic and, at the end of the day, we don't have to use it.

Part of our M.O., as it were, is doing things differently than other sites. This means using original or otherwise uncommon terms. For example, when I refer to Sonic 3, I usually mean Sonic 3 & Knuckles (unless otherwise noted) because that's, to be honest, a rather stupid name for a game that should've been released in that complete form in the first place.

Another example: we use 3D Blast's full name, Sonic 3D Blast: Flickies' Island. Not everyone does this, but we do.

As much as we value accuracy and getting things just right at Concept: "Mobius", standing apart from the crowd is just as important. There are dozens, if not hundreds, of Sonic sites out there, as the last thing we want is to get lost in the shuffle.

Just wanted to mention something about the fancharacter page on the site. It mentions that Blaze introduced elemental powers into the series. This is incorrect, as elemental powers were already apart of the series since the Adventure Games/Heroes. Sonic had some wind-based powers, Knuckles had fire punches and earth based powers, and Tails (and other Fly-types) had electricity with Thunder Shoot (as well as Tails using electrical based weapons in Heroes, Battle, and Riders.), and Tails also had a Tornado attack in Sonic Advance 3. Just wanted to mention that...

Perhaps, but with Blaze it's more of an inherent ability, rather than elementals for the sake of having them. For the others, they have 'em due to their ability types and formations and for the sake of gameplay.

Blaze, however, was born with 'em, making her pyrokinesis unique and worth separate mention.

I wouldn't say elements for the sake of having them, as Sonic is constantly stated as being like the wind, fitting his wind-based abilities, and Knuckles is stated to be like the mountain (and he also has a wild temper), so that fits his earth/fire based powers. Sonic even had a tornado attack in Sonic Rush when you fight him as Blaze.

You're being too technical and somewhat reaching here. That fact of the matter is, Blaze is the only character who is outright stated to have elemental abilities that she was more or less born with. That's what we're going by.
